For the past 31 years Pastor Keith Marshall Williams, Sr. has embodied the very essence of this profound and sagacious scripture in serving as the undershepherd of the historic Nazarene Baptist Church Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since his arrival, God has abundantly blessed Nazarene and its surrounding community through Pastor Williams’ unfailing dedication and steadfast commitment to strengthening families and enriching lives through the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is universally recognized as a visionary, innovator and organizer with superior and uncommon leadership qualities. A “pastor’s pastor,” his unique gifting transcends denominational, cultural, ethnical and generational boundaries. He is a nationally sought after preacher, lecturer and advisor.
In 1978 he received his BA degree from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN. He was a missionary with Sports Ambassadors, a basketball evangelism ministry team, which toured the Philippines, Hong Kong, Tokyo and five countries in Africa.
He received his Masters of Divinity Degree from the Palmer Theological Seminary of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1981. He served as an adjunct chaplain and Bible expositor for the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and 76ers.
In June of 1984, Pastor Williams was called as the sixth pastor of the historic Nazarene Baptist Church in Philadelphia,PA. A passionate pursuit of personal holiness, integrity, intelligence and an undying love of people, combined with sound biblical preaching, teaching and discipleship have characterized his successful and flourishing pastorate. He led Nazarene in the construction and completion of a $3.2 million church edifice in May of 1996. The Church has completed Phase 2 of its Capital Expansion Building Program which includes Community Beautification and the Church Parking Lot. Phase 3 is the development of Nazarene’s 93 acre camp ground in Lahaska, Pennsylvania into a multi-service Christian Camping and Conference Center. In November 2006 and in 2007, he was elected President of the Baptist Convention of Pennsylvania/South Jersey. In 2008 he was elected President of the State Convention Presidents Fellowship of the Southern Baptist Convention. In 2014-15 he was elected President of The National African American Fellowship, SBC. In 2014 he preached at the Southern Baptist Convention in Baltimore, MD and again in Columbus, Ohio in 2015. He is praying, fasting and calling with a prophetic voice for a “Greatest Commandment Revival ”(Matt.22:37-40) which will call the Body of Christ to repentance and inexplicable unity and love, that will usher the Church into a great Revival, which will precipitate a Spiritual Awakening in our Land!(www.Onefather.org) (2 Chron.7:14) Remarkably, Pastor Williams still finds time to serve his community. He is also the Director of Community Outreach for the prestigious Germantown Academy of Fort Washington, Pennsylvania and a founding Trustee of The Community Partnership School in North Philadelphia.
His ministry accomplishments have been highlighted in several publications including Lifeway’s New Bible Studies for Life series and 13 of his sermons were included in the Preacher’s Sourcebook Volume 3 which was released in the fall 2013. He was Clergy of the Year presented by Church Musicians Services and honored in 2015 with the Leadership Award from Campbellsville University in Kentucky
He is married to the former Constance L. Jones of Riverton, New Jersey. They are the proud parents of three children, Keith, Jr., Courtney (Steve Stotts, Jr.) Chierra and one grandchild, Laila. To God be the Glory!
